BLOODLINE
What we inherit does not have to define us.
Every generation inherits something from the one before it. A name. A history. A collection of stories. Sacrifices. Mistakes. Triumphs. Scars.
Bloodline explores the journey of a generation confronting everything that has been passed down to them.
The journey begins with “I See Fire,” where destruction threatens to consume everything that came before. The fire represents conflict, loss, and the forces that can destroy a family, a community, or an entire generation. Yet even in the ashes, something survives.
Mozart’s “Dies Irae” brings the bloodline face-to-face with its past. The Day of Wrath represents judgment and consequence as the performers confront the darkness that has been inherited. The bloodline begins to fracture under the weight of its history.
From the darkness comes Verdi’s “Sanctus.” Faith, unity, and redemption begin to rebuild what was broken. The performers discover that their history does not have to become their destiny. They can acknowledge the past without being controlled by it.
Finally, Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, Movement 4 becomes the declaration of a new generation. After fire, judgment, and redemption comes strength. The bloodline rises—not by forgetting the past, but by carrying its lessons forward.
The story ends with one final realization:
We do not choose the bloodline we are born into.
But we do choose what we pass on.
